Roma Employment Agency


Aim:
  • To improve access to work market by members of the Roma Community living in Metropolitan District Area      of Dublin and in Co Dublin

General Objective
    To set up an office – “Roma Employment Agency” that will act as a link between members of the Roma     Community living in Dublin with the right to work and FAS, for a period of three years.

  To commence a research activity regarding the Roma minority living in Dublin in order to establish its exact number of Roma with the right to work living in Dublin and suburbs. The research should be scheduled for 3 months and will have the following aims:

   1. Compilation of a database of the Roma people with the right to work and their qualification.
   2. Compilation of a profile regarding the level of professional qualification.
   3. Compilation of a database to highlight the number of Roma people engaged in work activities.
After this research has been completed a partnership agreement between “Roma Employment Agency” and FAS should be signed to facilitate access at available jobs for Roma people.

Activities:
   • Signing a partnership agreement between “Roma Employment Agency” and FAS to facilitate access to       available jobs for Roma people.
   • Using information provided by FAS in relation with available vacancies.
   • Organising training course for Roma people that do not hold a qualification requested by the work market       in connection with the current work market situation.
   • Organising monthly meetings with the community members living in Dublin and suburbs in order to inform       them about available vacancies.
   • Organising English classes, intensive level, for people who can’t access work because of lack of language       knowledge.

Team structure:
   • A coordinator – 35 hours/week x 20 euro = 700 euro/week
   • Assistant coordinator – 35 hours/week x 15 euro = 525 euro/week
   • Secretary coordinator – 35 hours/week x 15 euro = 525 euro/week
